THE LATE MR. ISMAY'S WILL---The will of the late Mr. THOMAS HENRY ISMAY,
head of the White Star Line, has been proved. The value of the real and
personal estate is sworn at £1,297,881 14s. 1d. gross, and £1,284,749 6s.
9d. net. Mr. Ismay left to six gentlemen who have all been employed for many
years in the firm of Messrs. Ismay, Imrie, and Co., £500 each, and to each
person, other than these, who had been in the firm's principal office for
five years up to his retirement 20 per cent. on the year's salary. He
leaves his widow £10,000 to divide, if she thinks fit, as follows: Liverpool
Seamen's Orphanage, £1,000; to the Liverpool Bluecoat Hospital, £1,000:
Bootle Borough Hospital, £1,000; Birkenhead Children's Infirmary, £1,000;
West Kirby Convalescent Home for Children, £1,000; the Railway Benevolent
Institution £1,000; the Liverpool Training Ship Indefatigable, £2,000; for
the benefit of the poor of the parishes of St. Mary's, Maryport, and of
Thurstaston he leaves £1,000 to each of the incumbents of the parishes. The
legacy of £10,000 to the Liverpool Seamen's Pension Fund to be called the
"Margaret Ismay Fund," has already been announced.
