Mrs Barbara Josephine Lenox-Conyngham

Mrs George Lenox-Conyngham (Barbara Josephine Turton) was born in 1868, her birth was registered in Thirsk, Yorkshire. She was the daughter of Edward Henry Turton, Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) and Justice of the Peace who lived at Upsall Castle in Yorkshire.

Barbara married Rev George Hugh Lenox-Conyngham of Springhill, Northern Ireland, on 13 April 1898. They lived for a time in Edinburgh and they had four children: Cecilia Laura, Eileen Mary, Denis Hugh and Alwyn Douglas Lenox-Conyngham.

She boarded the Titanic at Southampton with her sister-in-law Alice, and children Eileen and Denis.  The group disembarked at Cherbourg later the same day.

Barbara died on 25 November 1937.
