Many Titanic passengers came from a farming background, were farmers themselves, or farm labourers. These individuals were likely seeking a better life in America or were traveling on the Titanic to start a new life elsewhere. Farming was a common occupation during this time period, and many families relied on agriculture for their livelihood. These passengers would have been accustomed to hard work, long hours, and a close connection to the land. Despite their humble beginnings, these individuals were hopeful for a brighter future and the opportunities that awaited them in a new country. These were predominantly third class passengers. At the other extreme were several wealthy landowners occupying first class.
