Sculptor Paul Chevré. On the night of the Titanic disaster he played cards in the Café Parisien with Pierre Maréchal, Alfred Omont and Lucien P. Smith. Although at first the accident didn't appear to be serious, Chevré pocketed his cards and decided to get into one of the first lifeboats being lowered.
