Mr Mate Pocrnić, 17, an unmarried farmer from Bukovac, Croatia, boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a third-class passenger. He presumably travelled with Tome Pokrnic.
To reach his destination of South Chicago, Illinois, he bought his ticket from the agent: Johann Isidor Büchel, Buchs for 170 Swiss francs (ticket number 315095, £8 13s 3d).
Mate Pocrnić died in the sinking. His body if recovered, was never identified.
His parents, Mile and Mara Pocrnić in Bukovac, received £50 from the Titanic relief fund.
