My grandfather Lars Oleson Soholt was friend to Peter and also a carpenter. They had planned to sail on the Titanic together, but Lars got an offer to stay a bit longer in Sjoholt to build a barn. He decided that he would stay to make some more money for the trip and came over later into BC, then Minnesota. He grieved the loss of his friend.
