MISSING BOOTLE WOMAN
Bootle police are anxious to trace the whereabouts of Mrs. Annie Johnson. aged 32, of Monfa-road. Bootle. who disappeared from her home accompanied by her two children, Frederick Wm. Johnson. aged ten. and Doris. aged four. Mr Frederick Johnson had been away at sea for about two months, and when he returned home on August 11. his wife and children were missing. Neighbours had seen her cleaning the house the day before. According to a note. Mrs. Johnson answered an advertisement for a housekeeper. and left home to take up her post. - Liverpool Echo, 24 August 1932
VANISHED WOMAN MYSTERY - DESCRIPTION ISSUED BY BOOTLE POLICE
There was still no news, today, regarding the whereabouts of Mrs. Annie Johnson, of Monfa-road. Bootle, who has been missing from her home since August 10.
Mrs. Johnson was accompanied by her two children, Frederick William (10) and Doris(4), and, according to a note addressed to her husband, she left to take up a position as housekeeper. Bootle police have now issued the following descriptions:- Mrs. Johnson, aged 32. well built; 5ft 3in.; grey eyes; dark brown bobbed hair, and dressed in a dark brown tight-fitting hat, tan shoes, and light stockings. Frederick William Johnson, aged ten, 4ft. 4ins.. dark hair. blue eyes, pale complexion, and dressed in either grey suit or cricket shirt and grey trousers, black boots or pumps. Doris Johnson, aged four. 3ft. 4 to 6ins., fair bobbed heir. Blue eyes, fresh complexion, and round face.
Mr. Frederick Johnson returned home from sea on August 11. and his wife was last seen by neighbours cleaning the house on the previous day. - Liverpool Echo, 25 August 1932
